I tend to avoid short story collections, but took this one out from my library before realising that's what it was. It took me a little while to get into and I was a few stories in before I really got used to the format, but then u started to enjoy it.

My favourite stories in here were Girls are Always Hungry When all the Men are Bite Sized; Birds Fell From the Sky and Each One Spoke; The Only Thing I Cant Tell You is Why; I'll Eat You Up I Love You So; Exquisite Corpse; and Sweeter Than the Tongue I Remember.

I really enjoyed the dark, reflective, quiet tone throughout the collection. In a strange, but my no means bad, way it reminded me of watching Grizzley Tales for Gruesome Kids (a kids horror show from the early 2000s).

That said, I didn't really find myself feeling compelled to keep picking it back up or keep reading. Again, this is mostly just because short story collections in general aren't really my thing, and I think the ability to make a lasting impression on me is limited when we're only with a story for a very short number of pages.
