FrostBite by Claire Marta
5.0
Review:
At first I'm getting to the cover, of course :) In my opinion it's beautiful! The colours are amazing and I'm completely drawn to it. I could stare at it all day.
'Frostbite' is the first book in the series 'The Hunter Chronicles' and the debut of the author Claire Marta. And I most definitely think that she did an amazing job!
Claire created absolutely compelling characters. I'll quickly introduce you to some of them. At first of course the protagonists Jasmine and Eric.
Jasmine is a beautiful sensitive with a dark past, which overtakes her everytime she comes close to someone. She has issues with trusting other people but she seems to like her new job. Being a sensitive isn't always easy, as to bring the sensitive part to the surface means the sensitive has had a very bad, extreme experience. I loved Jazzy from the beginning!
Eric is a very hot - and very old - vampiria, which is a born vampire. He has a great character and he seems to be drawn to Jazzy. Eric doesn't want anything more than to protect her and that to his own surprise as he never seemed to care much about humans. Especially due to his immortality. Eric owned my heart after the first couple of words I've read about him.
You will also get to meet Twitch and Raoul. Twitch is Jasmine's colleague at Scotland Yard. He is a tech mage with his own kind of magic and usually leaves his home extremely seldom. With his magic he can do stunning things as well as creating absolutely deadly things.
Raoul is Eric's colleague and friend. You will cross paths with him occasionally and he, too, is a very hot vampire and can do some badass things with his magic.
The author Claire Marta has an absolutely thrilling and detailed writing style. 'Frostbite' is a story full of action, which captivated me really quick. There are no boring or dull scenes at all. I could barely put this book down and have read every day on the weekend until 3am! Claire has definitely done a great job researching all the little details, which make up a magnificent book.
The adventure of Jasmine Hunter takes place in Paris and is full of magic, hot vampires, werewolves and of course bad guys. I can highly recommend 'Frostbite' to every reader, who wants to dive into an amazing story to forget the real world around them for a little bit. I for my part can't wait to get my fingers on book #2 in this series!
