How to be a Happier Parent: Raising a Family, Having a Life, and Loving (Almost) Every Minute by K.J. Dell'Antonia

5.0

Part parenting manifesto, part practical suggestions for addressing current real world parenting challenges, this funny and insightful parenting book quickly became my "you must read this now" recommendation for 2019. And, for any parent, at any time, for that matter.

I love the organization of the book, which is topical in nature and addresses the biggest areas of tension and stress as a parent (for example, chores, the morning chaos, etc.). Her affirming, inclusive, non-judgmental mantras are something that will stick with me long after some of the more detailed advice slips away. I loved that the crux of her advice is not "how to be a better parent", but "how to be a happier parent", and her acknowledgement and affirmation that this will look different for every parent, in every family, in every stage of life.

Great read, solid advice. Well written.
