Carl and the Meaning of Life by Deborah Freedman

A sweet story about an earthworm who is asked by a field mouse why he does what he does, and as he goes out in search of an answer, it suddenly becomes noticeable when he is no longer doing what he does.

A nice reminder to those of us who feel like we don't do anything special, that our "why?" will always be needed.
