The Authority, Vol. 1 by Warren Ellis

4.0

Although it's a step back to 1999, to me this didn't feel dated at all. The characters are interesting, sometimes it's easy to tell who they are modeled from but they have refreshing quirks and personalities. The stakes are high, the villains are tough, the situations are bleak and sometimes insurmountable. But the heroes are the roughest, most vicious group of hombres: ready to do whatever it takes to make things better for all of us who call Earth "home." Give it a try if you're not squeamish.
