Candyfloss by Jacqueline Wilson

2024 REREAD:

Just taking a trip down memory lane to encourage my reading habits and get back on track. I've been thinking about Jacqueline Wilson lately and especially Candyfloss, recalling how I'd reread this piece over and over as a teen. It just hits in ways you can't explain - especially now reading it as an adult.

Although it is rather baffling that Flossie's mom and stepdad were shockingly dismissive and less than empathetic with Floss after breaking the news about Australia. But hey, Jacqueline Wilson covers all bases and who is to know there aren't parents who would've handled it the exact same in reality too?
