The Return of Sherlock Holmes
by Arthur Conan Doyle
Not dissimilar to the other three collections of Holmes stories, but seemed perhaps of an even higher quality--odd, given how late this one is. You'd think after having tired of, tried to kill off, and then been forced to resurrect the fabled detective, that Conan Doyle's enthusiasm and therefore quality might have suffered. Instead he seems to have honed his game even more and come up with even more ingenious ways of tricking the reader into following one thread while Holmes wows us by unraveling the truth that was right before us from the start. Good, fun stuff.
