The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson

I am probably the only person in my age range who has not seen the movie. However, being a little obsessed with serial killers and such, I did know about the murders of DeFeo family and honestly thought that this book will be about that. I did not know about so-called supernatural happenings in the house afterwards. So, there was an almost instant disappointment once I started reading it. Nevertheless, I was intrigued and kept on. It was a very fast read, but it wasn't even remotely scary or suspenseful. There was absolutely no emotional connection within the story. The way it was written felt as if someone was transcribing a movie or something like that: George did that, Kathy saw this, the car made noise, etc.
