Texts from Jane Eyre: And other conversations with your favourite literary characters by Daniel M. Lavery

4.0

Amusing, when you know the source material. The classics - and not so classic (Sweet Valley High!) if reimagined as a text between the characters.

Quite a few I didn't know (Nancy Drew, Babysitters' Club), so these went over my head.

Those I did varied between hilarious and mildly amusing. My favourites were Wuthering Heights (just as overblown as the was novel), Hamlet and Harry Potter. Les Miserables was brilliant too, and my favourite book - Pride and Prejudice - made me smile at the references to the Napoleonic Wars that are barely mentioned in the novel.

A very quick read (less than an hour), one for literature lovers with a sense of humour.
