The Runaway Dragon by Kate Coombs

4.0

Meg and all her friends from [b:The Runaway Princess|332626|The Runaway Princess|Kate Coombs|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1173825839s/332626.jpg|776355]are back in this sequel that is just as much fun to read as its predecessor. This time Meg's dragon, Laddy, has run off and she must go on a quest to find him. The quest is fully complete with faithful companions, a mysterious old guide, a journey through an enchanted forest, a run in with an irritated giant and a conflict with an evil sorceress. And plenty of lessons to learn. Cam discovers that of all the vegetables Spinach just might be the best. Lex discovers that there is such a thing as too much black. Nort and Dilly discover that constant bickering might just be a mask for something else. Bain discovers that you can't always steal what you want. And Meg discovers that quests don't always turn out how you expected. Again, Kate Coombs takes old fantasy tropes and has a great deal of fun with them while spinning a witty and delightful tale at the same time.
