Pandemonium by Cassandra Diaz, Chris Wooding

4.0

Pandemonium is an appropriately (lots of dark tones to reflect the situation and the world) illustrated and very enjoyable graphic novel. It's been forever since I've read The Prince and the Pauper, though this book still reminded me of it. The "pauper" in this story doesn't meet the prince and then voluntarily switch places with him. Instead two young men from hugely different walks of life swap lives in a different sort of way.

Readers will find humor, particularly in the ginormous cat owned by the prince. There's plenty of action and battle scenes. There's manipulation, plotting, politics, and nifty flying! Hey, there's even a touch of romance. I sure hope there will be a sequel! Oh, my 11-year old son also read it, and liked it as much as me--four stars from him too!
