for me

This book was okay. The plot was super rushed at times. I feel like that is the trend with this author. They have a habit of rushing things especially couples getting together. There wasn’t enough tension between the couple in the book. The couple had tension for .2 seconds before getting together. I really dislike the girls father and how the girl kind of gave every excuse in the book for him. I know others might relate and what not but for me I hated how the girl like put her parents marriage on herself. Like it isn’t your job to keep your parents together especially like your in college and she just acted naive and it bothered me. Again the friendship is what always makes the book better. I would say this book is average but with how annoying the main character is at times I can’t call it average. I love the couple together but the girl was just annoying. Like her father cheated and did all these horrible things. I will say this series is vey wholeomse and very happy endings for anyone but her father didn’t deserve his wife nor kids. I hated how the girl just forgave everything and like he could murder someone and she would be like but he’s my dad. She just seemed to act like she was in high school. The first book was the best so far. Book 2 and now 3 aren’t good. But it wasn’t entirely bad again friendship was great and so was the couple together. 2.5/5

family enemies to lovers, office romance

I have mixed feelings about this book but I love the appearance of the Magic Willows in each book. I’m obsessed with their friendship and their little scrapbook

Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. This one is no different. Maura gets an internship working for one of her families "enemies/rivals" from her home town. Dex is hard on her at first but soon sees that her hard work, loyalty, empathy and charm are too hard to resist. How do they navigate the family dynamics back home? It's worth a read to find out!

I enjoyed the enemies-to-lovers vibes this book was emitting, but have noticed some repetition in the phraseology and characterizations in this book that were also present in the first two books in the series. The male main characters share too many of the same traits, wrapped up in slightly different packages, that it's starting to have an effect on my reading experience. Maybe it's just because I'm binge reading the series that I'm noticing these patterns; but I probably would have noticed them regardless.

At any rate, there are some great steamy moments, and I enjoyed the fact that the author put her own spin on the tropes and conflicts in this book.
