This book was SO GOOD. It was exactly what I needed. It felt just like a cozy Christmas movie! There was snow (not that we have snow in New Zealand at Christmas

This book wasn't exactly ...bad? It was just a bit too cheesy and over the top for me at times and the smut was heavier than the level at which I prefer to read. Other than that my main critique is just that the romance was super fast and not super believable.

This was fine.. I liked Marie, Gabby, and Dani.
Leo was.. not great. I found him insufferable and hated reading from his POV.

I am really excited for Duke, Actually though. The banter between Dani and Max at the end was great.

“‘I think,’ he drawled. ‘This Hallmark movie is about to get a lot more interesting.’”

Leo Ricci is doing the best he can to take care of his little sister. He has a job as his apartment building’s super as well as moonlighting as a cab driver in his off time. But that doesn’t leave a lot of time for him to actually spend with his sister. When he picks Gabby up from school, she nearly gives him a heart attack when she demands he stops to pick up a woman outside the United Nations building.

Princess Marie of Eldovia is in desperate need of help. The future of her country rests on her shoulders and she has no way of getting around New York City. When Leo stops for her, she can’t believe her luck. While her bodyguard isn’t too pleased, Marie is thrilled. Making a split second decision, she asks Leo if he’ll be her driver the entire time she’s in New York and he reluctantly agrees. The more time they spend together, the more Marie can’t help but admire the gruff taxi driver.

Leo can’t help but like Marie, even though she’s totally off-limits and way out of his league. When she asks him and Gabby to accompany her back to Eldovia for Christmas, he is powerless to say no. As they spend more time together, he can’t help but wonder if she’s the one for him. Will they be able to overcome the politics that come with dating a princess?

Yes, this is very reminiscent of A Christmas Prince, but I liked this better. First of all, there’s no lying about who Leo is. I loved how caring Leo is. From taking care of his sister to stopping for a random woman when he’s technically off duty, he just seems like an all-around great guy (which is why this book ended up on my Perfect Book Boyfriend shelf). Everyone knows I’m a sucker for a good Hallmark movie and that is exactly what this book is. It’s romantic, sweet, and definitely cheesy. If you’re a fan of The Princess Switch and A Christmas Prince, you’ll love A Princess for Christmas !

Didn’t love it but it was fine. I’ve since read two others by the author that I loved, so this was a rare Miss I guess

This was honestly so cute. It was very Hallmark-esk (and the book knows it too, it leans very into the Hallmark theme), with smut—awkward smut, but smut nonetheless—and a really sweet romance. I loved these characters, especially Marie, and I had such a fun time reading this. I just wish these characters had some better communication at the end. There isn’t really a third act break-up, but I definitely would have rated this higher had there been more communication between the MC’s. I also feel like this book loses its direction in the second half, and the pacing really falls off. Still really fun and cute though, definitely recommend.

Is it a Hallmark Christmas movie novel if you call out it's resemblance to a Hallmark Christmas movie in the novel? This is a charming holiday romance (definitely open door) that doesn't so much play with as just plain does the Hallmark thing (fake Euro country - check, festivals - check, skating - check) but it's well done and a pleasure to read. The kind of thing you want when you want that kind of thing.
