I have many, many issues with this book. Probably some of it was from my own misunderstanding of the thesis, but not all. The short list is: Petersen contradicts herself, talks about herself constantly (at one point I turned the audio on double speed while shouting nooooo after another "to draw on my own experience..."), pays lip service to capitalism and patriarchy while doing no reflection, and is generally poorly put together

The book does not talk about the effect on children at all. I have many thoughts about this, but I'm chalking them up to that "misunderstood the thesis". Except for one [spoiler for mention of CSAM]
Petersen discusses how influencer's children's images are used in "roleplay blogs", including for pedophilic purposes. Do we discuss the kids? No, but "using pictures of other people's children is deeply creepy."
You're not wrong, but maybe now isn't the time to talk about kids as someone else's property?

In the end, I was given a new perspective into a life I dont share. For that I thank Petersen.
