I was hoping for something more akin to John Green. That is not what this is and is probably why I was let down. I loved the setting so much though and I'll be keeping an eye out for more books set in Appalachia.

This was fast-paced and entertaining. Breaking Bad but from the teen perspective. It was also a love story. It felt very crammed pack with character and plot development for a short time frame, but I know a lot of teen readers that’ll eat it up.

Very basic YA book. Fast and decent read. Felt a bit rushed especially towards the end and the plottwists didnt make a whole lot of sense. A lot just felt like there could be more/ the book felt very ambitious and tried to acchieve a lot it then couldnt really acchieve.
Still an alright read.

I'm usually not an insta-love person, but for some reason Fen and Miri's instant connection actually worked for me in this book. I think there were enough clues about their personalities so that even if the connection didn't make sense or was surprising to them, it wasn't to me.
This book is a wild ride. So much happens. Especially in the last quarter of the book. Some of it has a perfect, tense build-up and some I felt like maybe happened too fast felt like it came out of nowhere?
Regardless, I still enjoyed the book. I think fans of Ellen Hopkins style of writing will like this one, though it's not written in verse.
Note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions my own.

Wrecked is the story of three teens in rural Kentucky. One, Fen, has just moved to the area to live with his dad. The other two are on the periphery of a drug lord known as the Wizard, while also living doomsday style. Short chapters from each character's perspective unfurl the story. I thought it was okay. There were parts at the end that threw me, and I didn't entirely trust the ending.
Moderate: Drug use

What a great read! Great characters and an engaging story. And there’s a twist I never saw coming to finish it off. I loved the short chapters that were from individual character’s point of view.
Highly recommend this good read. 1st book of 2923 for me.
