This book was resoundingly mid.

I liked the MMC and felt he was fully developed, had a solid backstory, and made a ton of sense.

The FMC was incredibly frustrating and annoying in comparison. I don’t understand why she is convinced her parents had the perfect marriage when they passed away when she was 3. Even based on sibling accounts, or even other townspeople, no one truly knows what happens behind closed doors.

I REALLY disliked that Amelia’s bachelorette party was where Annie decides it’s the optimal time to lay out TONS of years of pent up feelings and baggage. Like, it’s not your night girl, if you’ve held it down for almost 30 years what’s another 3 hours?

Maybe I’m too distanced from what living in a small town is like to understand it fully? But she was so awkward in a “oops I’m so quirky” way that made me dislike her.

Also, maybe I’m wrong, but there was definitely an inconsistency with the dress color for the bridesmaid dress? The chapter started by saying it was mint and then only a couple pages later said it was blue.
