The Behrg passed this along to me a while back; and as I was backing up some books; I saw this sitting in my docs. There it is! Oooooh, I thought. It was waiting for me like a dark little surprise.
The last story I read by this author gave me a chill in my brain, and their current book of stories is on my tbr, so I was delighted to find this and dived right in.

The story intrigued me at the very first word and like a phantom it led me along softly and bewitchingly. I must know more! Oh, I did learn more.. little by little. It started building as an almost warmth of feeling given me at first, a happiness that I was content to watch grow into a fire; but no. That quickly leads to a feeling of nervous dread, then the feeling and tone of the story became tension so fast —it was nightmare in seconds; nightmare, horror—shock ? Belief? Sadness? Awe?

You’re so good at building your moments ... and weaving your webs, that I am a little terrified (and hopeful) of what you could do with a full novel. Well done. 5 stars.
