Definitely feels like an episode that would've aired in 2005 just not a great one sorry 😭

Doctor Who books fall into 2 categories: stories too dark to show on screen or stories that are too silly to show on screen. This one feels silly. The blurb tells you the whole plot and there's more quips than narrative. You really have to stretch your imagination to make the plot work and I'm not convinced the author has ever played a video game. Not a single thing about the war was unpacked either. It was however fun. The characterisation is familiar and I love seeing the Powell Estate in adventures.

listened to the audiobook and tbh this is one of the best doctor who books ive read (and for better or worse i have read a lot). nice, interesting mystery, wacky as hell in some places with the plot but that is expected and a bonus imo. has the plus of not being weird about women. always a plus when reading scifi. was worried it was gonna be a Video Games Bad plot but nope. would reccomend although like maybe watch 2 or 3 episodes of the show first if you havent. idk.
