A quick drop into the graveyard for a spooky back story to this much loved series. It gives a new look into several parts of the series. Do not miss this one. A mystery that has been buried for too long has come to the surface and will finally be put to rest.

What a great prequel to pull you deep into a series. I cannot wait to start the series now! Strong characters with mystery and intrigue but little to do with the main character Amelia, this is a great curiosity catcher to say the least!

This was a quick fun read. It was interesting but I did find it a little unnecessary. While I don't remember the first book completely, I just feel like this introduction wasn't really needed. However, that may change after I reread the first book. I liked Ree as well as the introduction to Detective Devlin.

I wish the author would have been a little more transparent with Hayden. Their were some moments I was confused as to his behavior. Was he or wasn't he? I know this is just a novella, but some expansion would have been nice.

A quick read to get to know the key players in the series. Ree, Hayden and a very small amount of Amelia.

Great introduction into a very interesting sounding series. (The Graveyard Queen Series? I mean right off the bat that just sounds awesome).

Ree Hutchins is a grad student who currently volunteers at a mental hospital. She’s a very normal, career-oriented girl, until one day things start happening to her that she can’t explain.

The story-lined grabbed me from the start, I loved Ree and Hayden, and I loved the eeriness… I can’t wait to read the first in the series!

I remembered I had this book while reading The Restorer so I quickly changed books. But, I did not think the stories went hand in hand. I would have had a story from long before. Than a story about a girl haunted by a ghost and looking into a shady society.

It was still good, as it was. But when I then think about The Restorer I find holes.

So it works better as it is, than as a prequel.

Good little story and attention-grabber. Piqued my interest and now I'm excited to read the first book in the series.

Oh how glad I am that I have a Nook! THE ABANDONED is only available (at least that's what I gather) as an ebook. And it was free, like a gimme so the reader can taste the world of Amelia Gray in this novella. I've read THE RESTORER (http://iyamvixenbooks.blogspot.com/2011/10/restorer-graveyard-queen-book-one.html) the first book in the series. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series as it comes out.

Amelia isn't in the book very much, but the setting from the first book is there. So dark and dank and scary. And gooooooood.

I hope the characters get revisited in future books.

Four sparkly scary diamonds......

Great short story. I hope she releases a new Graveyard Queen book soon.
