A short but impactful story on mankind getting warfare down to a science, much to our detriment.
I think it does a good job of making a set of mindless automated systems feel alive. The story's message is quite clear. The whole story is under 1700 words, so can easily be read in a single sitting.
It can sometimes feel difficult to rate a short story highly, because there's simply less words with which to develop the story, but I do think back to this story every once in a while and have read it multiple times so it feels worthy of a 4 out of 5.
