How have I missed K. Street all this time? What a listen this book is! Tucker came home after the death of his brother, and has taken to a life that he did not expect. Wanting to leave his hometown behind, this unexpected twist has left him a widow with a beautiful daughter. Camryn has moved to Jaxson Cove to start her life over. Leaving her ex behind, she is not looking for love, but Tucker and Shayne have stolen her heart. First, let me start by saying I love the single dad trope, and the relationship between Tucker and his "Doodlebug" is so endearing! She is a spitfire and stole my heart right away with her big words and quick wit. Tucker is such a gruff one, but has a heart of gold underneath. Camryn has a lot of baggage, and I love how they work through things. It's a wonderful listen, full of fun times(cupcakes are delicious!), serious topics and passionate romance. An incredible listen!

With books like this, narrators are key. Teddy Hamilton takes the role of Tucker and makes him real. He has that gruff exterior with lots of emotion and Teddy's conversational inflection makes him very genuine. Callie Dalton as Camryn is spot on. She takes Camryn's damaged self and gives her the emotional pull needed to make her the wounded girl she is. At the same time, I love her confidence when she is with Shayne. Together the two compliment each other in this dually narrated story.

5 Stars are not enough

This is my first book by K. Street and it will definitely not be my last. The emotional journey of a single father, Tucker, who has had more loss in his life than he should and Camryn who is trying to find her own path was a masterpiece in the making. From the wonderful honest characters to the fabulous plot and sequencing, this is a book that once you start you will not be able to put down. And don’t get me started on the plot twist at the end. I cannot wait for more from this author.

I took one look at this cover, and it sucked me in. I hadn't read a book by K Street before, so I went in relatively blind, but ended up pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed this story of a single father (Tucker) raising his daughter (Shayne) after his wife passed away. Camryn moved next door after accepting a job at Shayne's school, and Shayne and Camryn hit it off from the start.

I very much enjoyed Shayne (she was probably my favorite character), and loved how she brought Tucker and Camryn together. The writing was done well, the pacing was even, and the plot was right up my alley.

I will most definitely look for more books by this author!

I don’t want to say this book was disappointing because I had zero expectations, but it still managed to let me down.
Everything about this felt so surface level, I never understood the connection between the Hero and Heroine, their relationship felt very much based on physical attraction which is fine, I mean I get finding someone attractive, but I just didn’t buy that this guy who was so damaged and made an active decision not to be in a relationship, decided to give it a go with a woman he found “fuckable” had one conversation with and who was nice to his kid.

My heart tore near the end of this book... Camryn comes in and throws a wrench in Tucker's life as his doing his best raising his daughter. After all she did, then what happened... I'm not spoiling it but ugh. My heart!
