generally fun! i was worried when i saw it featured characters from the first book, but it didn’t hurt the first at all. a couple moments of awkward narration or contradiction, but not major.

I definitely enjoyed the indepth character study here more than I did the plot/ story from *Every Heart a Doorway*, but I'm so conflicted because I HATE the Moors and I HATE how it's the girls' "home". Obviously will read on, but I desperately want a satisfying conclusion to the way book 1 ended.
