A good and interesting read about one of the American Revolutionary Leaders. It provided some fresh perspective on the times prior to the American Revolution and the life and influence of one who was a behind the scenes intellectual leader.

I really wanted to like this book. I appreciate all of the research that went into it but the writing is hard to follow. I feel like it is intended for people who already have a very good understanding of the events leading up to the Revolutionary War. I have a doctorate and had to stop to look up many words along the way. I wish it painted a more straightforward picture of the time.

Extremely insightful. I didn’t know much about Samuel Adams beforehand. It was a great perspective on the Revolution. However, it was difficult to follow. I had to be extremely engaged in what I was reading or I’d easily be distracted.
