This book has a fascinating compilation of how society is teaching and influencing young men into becoming socially awkward, shy, and emotionally absent. This combined with online porn use, addiction, and video gaming are isolating them from society. It also discusses popular media teachings, feminism, and the fight for equality in ways I would never have considered.
The only downside was that it was purely heteronormative in context except for a brief subtext in gay and lesbian parents that concluded more research is needed. This narative will make me keep a close eye on how I parent my future children (not that I wasn't going to already), and I can only hope that I don't allow this downward spiral to continue.
