Well I told myself I’d read this one slower than the first and I finished it in 2 days instead of 1 so we’ll count that as a success. (I’m obsessed with this series)

4.5 . Loved this more than fifth season - will return to write in depth review, but character building, world building is a+

Trilogy is fun so far, but second book lulled slightly more than the first.

i thought this book was simultaneously more fast paced and yet, more boring than the first book. there was a lot going on but when i attempt to recall the highlights, i'm left with nothing but the goriest details (side note: do NOT read when eating).

at one point, i was just reading for the sake of finishing. i was not invested in the characters like i was with book 1. i couldn’t care less about each character, even essun. i suppose part of it is due to the second person POV.
