A riveting story with two main characters who were so delightful to spend time with. I loved the tension that Ava Harrison built with this plot. The narration was even better. If I had one complaint, it was that I never really felt like Grayson tried AT ALL to get to know River. Apparently her adoration of him + her hotness was all that he needed....?! But, tbh, that tracks, so...
4.5 enticing Stars. I've been waiting to read this one... slow-burn forbidden/taboo romance story. There's an age gap of 15 years between Grayson and River. Grayson was River's dad best friend. River had a crush on Grayson since she was 12 years old. I'll have to say River was a mature young woman, but her insecurities got me frustrated sometimes. She's afraid of people abandoning her because her mom left her. I don't have anything against Grayson. Love him. He can be confusing at times, but his love for River was beautiful. I totally didn't see the twist coming. So well done.

It took me a bit to warm up to the book. I just found the start of the book to be choppy. The idea of falling in love with an adult at 12 is misplaced, but it was a significant memory for River. The initial connection between the two just seemed "forced" but as Grayson spends the time to get to know her I slowly started to believe the connection. I'm not really sure if her dad would have been okay with it honestly, but it ended well.

I read this book because it was mentioned in another book that I was reading (LOL).
I enjoyed it. It was an easy read.
I love an age gap romance and they can very easily become cringe worthy. This one was not.
It was done well, and I liked the love felt between the two lovers.
I personally thought the reasons that the main characters had for not being together were a little silly. the ending was sooooooo underwhelming. I was super disappointed. The drama seemed even more unfounded due to the reactions of each character and the end of the novel and it was a boring way to wrap up the book.
I was however really invested in the brother's story. He seemed so multi-faceted compared to the main characters written in Entice. So I'm looking forward to reading that book.

He keeps everyone at a distance, never letting anyone, including his siblings, past his defenses. When he reconnects with an old friend, Tyler, he is stunned by the beautiful woman Tyler's daughter, River, has become. River has had a crush on Grayson for years. Now that she is home from college, she and Grayson are thrown together, working on an important job for her father. The sparks fly between them, but the guilt of their age gap keeps Grayson from acting on it. Their relationship is complicated and their fears govern their actions. Soon they are incapable of ignoring the fiery chemistry between them, but feel the need to keep it a secret. What could possibly go wrong with keeping secrets? Sebastian York, and Virginia Rose are amazing as they bring this moving and passionate story to life. They are so perfect as Grayson and River, and beautifully conveyed the depth and complexity of all their emotions. I always love their work and was totally captivated in their performance from start to finish.

Okay, first off, my brain processed at the very end that I had read Jaxson's book before this a couple of months back and I can't remember what happens in his book. Which is sad. Anyway, I enjoyed this book in the last half. I feel like the first half was the drawn-out "the age gap is too big" for us to be together. It was getting annoying and then they finally got together and then kept their relationship a secret from River's family until the last bit of the book.
Grayson is a billionaire and works alongside his two siblings, Addison and Jaxson, he is super uptight and the moment he lets himself enjoy the attention of a woman...that woman happens to be River, his old best friend's daughter. So this ensues to Grayson beating himself up because he is fifteen years older than River. River has been in love with Grayson since she was twelve. She has abandonment issues out the wazoo but tries to put on a good face. Grayson softens around River, which is lovely to see, and River lets her walls down around him.
I think that this book builds their relationship well over time. I like that there are multiple moments of being in a relationship together that move the story along but also build upon it. The travel from the Hamptons back to Manhattan did get a bit repetitive and her mother coming back into her life felt rushed. I wish that Tyler, River's father, hadn't found out that River and Grayson were in a relationship together so late and the way he did. He walked in on them kissing after she had donated bone marrow to her mother for cancer treatment.
Ava Harrison, once again, writes relationships to be believable and it is refreshing to see that not all characters will suddenly just fall in love with each other.
