Sweet. Not what I expected. Elders solving murders and good detectives. Loved the character development.

A well plotted, darkly comic whodunnit. 4* for great (and very well-written) entertainment.

Loved the audio book. Narrator did a great job with all the characters. It’s a feel good mystery with serious topics but just the right amount of humor.

It was true. It was often like this. It rarely happened fast. Occasionally it didn't happen at all...
It would or it wouldn't.
They could or they couldn't.
The ultimate outcome was, of course, inevitable, but in the short term an Exiteer had to learn to be patient.

A good excuse to read it again and to finish the Exmoor Trilogy.

This is her latest offering and was a real joy to read. A somewhat cosy who-done-it with a great cast of characters. The story follows Felix Pink, an Exiteer, who visits the terminally ill and witnesses their suicides. Whilst attending the suicide of Skipper Cann, Felix and his new partner, Amanda, find themselves in a difficult situation. Firstly, when trying to merely observe, Mr Cann knocks the nitrous oxide mask and cylinder and Amanda instinctively catches it and passes it back. Suddenly they are no longer merely observing and have assisted in the suicide, which firmly places them on the wrong side of the law. Secondly, when they hear a noise from another room, they find Skipper Cann waiting for them.

Who then have they just watched die and why were all the prerequisite items with the wrong person. Felix tells Amanda that he'll take full responsibility, but then finds himself fleeing the scene and running from the law. Can he uncover the truth behind the situation before the police catch up with him?

What I really enjoyed was that every time I thought I had it figured out the plot twisted and all my theories came crashing down. Keeping the reading guessing until the end, I thoroughly recommend this to any fans of [a:Richard Osman|6173710|Richard Osman|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/m_50x66-82093808bca726cb3249a493fbd3bd0f.png]'s [b:The Thursday Murder Club|46000520|The Thursday Murder Club (Thursday Murder Club, #1)|Richard Osman|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1582287822l/46000520._SY75_.jpg|70861405].
