Really funny. Starts off extremely serious and then after a few chapters turns into something Tom Sharpe would be proud of. Lots of interesting characters, some hilarious scenes and a great story.

Delightful. If you're a fan of those wryly witty "lite" British mystery/police shows, you'll love this.

Belinda Bauer has been on my list of to-read authors for quite some time and I’m excited to read more of her books!

Animal lovers will be pleased to know there is no animal abuse in this delightful and witty mystery! Although I would have looked the other way if the ginger tomcat, that was a semi-lovable bully, accidentally received a faceful of water

Exit by Belinda Bauer – I enjoyed this book it covers a subject I feel quite strongly about, the right to end your life. The central character (Felix) is an older man p (in his 70’s) who is very organised and what I would call proper, he lost his wife to dementia a few years ago and his only Son some years before that. It was while arranging the funeral of his wife he found out about the Exiteer, people who sit with person who wants to die and makes sure all the evidence is removed. They don’t actually facilitate with the death. He goes on a job with a new recruit a younger woman and everything is following the normal plan, although the young woman is very nervous. They find man in his bed struggling to breathe with all the expected things in place, in his struggle to reach the mask it gets knocked to the floor. The women being helpful picks it up and passes it to the man, but that means she has assisted him. When he passes Felix, packs up the equipment and they start to leave the house when he hears and noise, he goes to investigate to find an old man in his bed and he is greeted with the words ‘You took your time’. What follows is Felix attempts to put things right, protect the young women who has her whole life still ahead of her. Make sure his dog is not abandoned at home and then puzzle out why it went wrong and who set them up and all while the Police try to work out what exactly happened. I find this a quite lighthearted and entertaining book to read on a subject more of us should be talking about. I feel if it was more open and talked about you would be able to stop it being abused. I listened to this book via BorrowBox and I thought the accents really brought the book to life

Enjoyable, hilarious and tragic. What a book!
Felix is an Exiteer - a small group of people who help those in pain and suffering terminal illnesses die with little pain and dignity.
He has no issues until Mr Cann and his new partner, Amanda. They flee the house after Skipper Cann informs them the wrong man is dead. Felix and Amanda killed Albert Cann.
Felix returns to the scene of the crime to find their housekeeper watching tv. Hayley sobs she is pregnant and tired. So Felix helps her tidy up. Afterwards he repairs the fence he broke to escape.
Calvin Bridges helps the police investigation- tracking down witnesses, CCTV and interviewing the coordinator of Exiteer.
One lead turns into another as the characters bumble through life- theft of a tulip, a maniacal vending machine, nosey neighbors and horse betting.
Dark humor keeps this book lively through some serious depressing reality - dying alone, after your friends and loved ones. Bereft elderly struggling with the loss of meaning in their lives, loss of dignity and kindness.
The ending - ugly crying.
Highly recommend.

Fun easy read and I could not tell where the story was going. The hook at the beginning about killing the wrong man really grabbed. I also found the old characters cute in that way that old people tell it like it is way.
