This book and couple was probably by far my most favorite book of the entire series! This couple was such a wonderful example of how love and compassion and communication should be. I love the way they communicate through all the feelings and hardships thrown their way and then all of the twists and turns that come just make it a book I couldn’t set down!

Okay so while I enjoyed Natalie and Liam's story and thought that them falling in love was well paced considering she'd lost her husband, his best friend, there were aspects of the duet that I didn't love. I don't know if it's cuz they're military guys but there were multiple moments of systemic toxic masculinity, and even among the women they were calling each other names I didn't love (this also happened a bit in the last diet). These ones also felt laced with systemic fatphobia, as it was clear that the FMC was concerned about not being fat or becoming fat on multiple occasions. I'm glad I read the author's newer work first because going back to this older series isn't as good overall. I'm going to try the next one but if it's more of the same "Ugh" moments I may just stop reading the rest.

So glad I had this book on hand to start right away. This book was the perfect summary to Consolation and Lee and Liam's story. I loved their love.
Spoiler I am glad that Aaron's return didn't create unnecessary drama to them. Although it would've been entertaining, id hate for their love to have been tainted.
I definitely recommend this duet if you love true love. I ❤ Liam!!

You should STOP if you haven't read Consolidation!

If you know me, you know I have a list a mile long of books I need to read because I review, a lot. This was not on that list but I did pre-order it because I was left stunned at the end of Consolation. When it appeared on my Kindle I finished what I was in the middle of and immediately started this one. Once I started, I could not stop. I needed to know what was going to happen, I needed to know how everyone was going to make this complete mess work and deadlines be damned.

"I moved toward Liam, his blue eyes meet mine as I rush towards him. I take his hands in mine, but he releases them. My heart shatters as he steps back."

For most of this book my heart was in my throat. I could not fathom the impossible decisions that lay ahead of Natalie and Liam. Their life was almost perfect, only to be shattered. Aaron's arrival was like a slap in the face or knife to the gut. Not only was it painfully unbelievable that he was in fact alive, but now comes the aftermath of the mess he made before he left. The pains and trials that Natalie, Liam and Aaron have to face are heart-wrenching and if I were a crier I am sure I would have been mush.

Besides the soul crushing, there was also some humor and growth. These three are all at different points in their lives. They all have grown and learned a little more about life. Liam is becoming the man he never thought he would get the chance to be. His life before was about the mission not about family. Aaron needed to learn to deal with the demons that are left on his soul not only from his mistakes but also the toll of being lost on a mission. Natalie needed to grow up and take the blinders off, she knows what she wants and had to learn to fight for it. She was used to easy and comfortable but that is not what real love is all about.

Over-all this story was one of beauty; you laugh, have your heart broken but in the end it was all worth it.

"Sometimes you have to wade through the bad to find the good."

While I loved book one, this book wasn't as good. I felt that I needed more with the connection and there was too much seperation when there shouldn't have been.

My only complaint about both books in this series are they were a bit too long and seemed to drag in some parts. I was angry at the beginning of this one with Natalie's behavior with Aaron, and I ALMOST said F it and didn't bother reading it. Luckily, instead of remaining TSTL, she pulled herself together and did the right thing from the beginning. Great story about a very strong and amazing woman.
