Yeahhh. ABSOLUTELY NOT what I was expecting. I had to stop at some points because I was so overwhelmed with sadness. I hiccuped through my dinner at one point while listening because yeah…I swallowed a sob.

I did not enjoy the audio version of voices with accents. They sounded robotic. I also did not feel any chemistry whatsoever between the female and male lead.

Absolutely recommend!
This is not a typical “rom com” type book- it’s more family drama, romance, “summer read”, women’s fiction- all rolled into one beautiful story!
I loved:
The sister relationship
The slow building love story
The setting- island life, the people who live there, the culture
How grief is dealt with in such a raw, real way
Sadie - her character is just so beautiful & special
I SOBBED in one part (I’m sure you’ll know it when you read it) but it was a beautiful, heart wrenching part that was dealt with SO perfectly!
Sigh. I had planned to donate this book to my little free library when i was done- but I’ll be keeping it. It’s one that will live on my “forever” book shelf and I’ll read again one day ❤️

This was a very heartwarming and cute read. I love that the romance really wasn’t the focal point of the novel and that the sisterhood aspect was. Very emotional and lovely to read.
