i can’t fathom the excellence of Clarice Lispector. i find a lot of her sense within her abstract. contextually reading this book knowing she wrote it when she was dying of cancer really adds a certain depth because you definitely see inspirations from im assuming her own feelings and experience.

i don't think i will ever stop thinking about this book. the narrator who is too self aware of his failure and the blissfully ignorant girl who has nothing, but could never want more. and the concept that the narrator created the girl (and is in love with her), but still gave her the same fate as everyone else, death. the themes of god and worship and creation. just brilliant.
