This was great! I like that the blog entry formatting of the book is the newest version of the epistolary novel. After reading it, I remembered that this was the background info of sorts for two of the characters in Therefore Repent. I am really digging Jim Munroe's stuff, partly because his female characters are central and well-written. I also can see why his stories would lend themselves well to the graphic novel format - they are already very visual - and partnering with artists is icing on that cake.

Munroe is really good at creating a diverse cast of detailed characters, and their relationships, dialog and the inner workings of their social scene are all meticulously described. Realistic youth culture aside, there's not much going on in this book. The basic plot is that the main character discovers her roommate doing an arcane satanic ritual--but there's no conflict. There's no tension of any kind, and there's certainly no climax. It's a fun read, but by the end I was frustrated that there wasn't more to it.
