"A lone outlaw arrives in the beautiful city of Holliswood with a gruesome goal. He'll create chaos–and film the pandemonium for an audience back home. The destiny of the city and its inhabitants lies in Daniel X's hands. But this time, Daniel has created a secret weapon of his own. With the help of an all-star team, Daniel and his friends must face a villain with a taste for the kind of terror that usually lives safely in the movies."

The second book in the Daniel X series was a great follow up! Another fun and quick read; if you liked the first one you'll enjoy this one as well!

(Slight spoilers ahead)
Some of the issues I had with the last book are still present in this book. I think the romance sub-plot with Dana and Daniel is still weird and Dan gets new powers out of nowhere.

I think its interesting how Daniel has pursued (real) girls in both of these books so far. It's brought up here and there that Daniel is quite lonely, and he tries to remedy this with thinking up his family and friends for company. I wish this side of Daniel was explored a bit more. I think its strange that his parents were the only alien hunters on the planet Earth, and it would be more fulfilling if Daniel ran into other alien hunters and found fellowship with them instead of relying on his imagined family. Another thing about Dan that is brought up at the end of the book as he is starting up a hunt for another top 5 alien baddie, Daniel has been extremely lucky with exterminating/ending the higher ranked aliens on his list. I wish that he was given the chance to hone on his original powers and become stronger that way rather then him getting new powers out of the blue. This is also where I wish he met other alien hunters so that he wouldn't have to go on these dangerous missions all on his own, and he could learn to rely on others.

I did like how the aliens in this book were a bit more freaky then the one in the first book. A bit more depraved, but not too graphic on the depravity (still a good read for younger audiences!).

Terrible almost non-sensical rubbish book the second in a series that is apparently marketed at the teenage area but is just so badly put together it just feels like an idea to make some extra bucks out of that bulging market.

I have to say Number 5 was incredible sneaky with his plan to take over the world! The caviar was a rather good idea, I have to say.
I would feel seriously unnerved if I found out that he'd been watching basically my whole life. Super paranoid!
Once again, I really liked the friendship dynamic of this, but I think I appreciated the romantic side more (for once). I just disagree with Daniel and Dana.
I love the way he just materializes his parents without even thinking about it.
And Lucky was such a cute addition to the story!

The short chapters really help me to fly through :D Got this book read in an hour and a half, thanks to reading along with my 3x audio. It was my second-last book in the readathon.

This book was great. The next book looks like it will be the best.

I'm becoming less and less impressed by this series as it goes on... Not a lot of content or detail, the protagonist is pretty shallow. I've loved most every other James Patterson book I've read but this series seems to have bitten the dust.

It wasn't as good as the first. It did have some strong points. I enjoy Mr. Patterson's writing because there is a lot of humor in his work. However, I don't know if Judy Blue Eyes was essential to the plot. It helped Daniel figure something out with mind control (it's not as weird as I just made it sound), but otherwise there was no need for romance. In these two books, Daniel's fallen in love with a girl besides Dana, his dream girl, and had it bite him in the end. But really, what's the point of Dana if he's going to keep shoving her away and replacing her with other girls? Daniel has a messed up mind. Literally.
Otherwise, I liked the villain. His flair for theatrics was fun to read. The evil plot was good; although very sickening (using humans as breeders through caviar? Come on) I guess this is three stars, because, in general, the plot wasn't as good as the first one. Although it was good, not as good. I'm a little concerned about the next one. :S Oh well. A good read, I would suggest the first one over this one, but what person reads the books n a series out of order? :)

It's a shame. This book had such potential and it wasted it by the author's choppy sentences, poorly depicted characters, shameless merchandising mentions, and horrible pacing. In the hands of a true author, it would have been a masterpiece. As it was, it had such great potential that you winced in sympathy for the characters being mishandled.

And I'm sorry, Danny boy, but you're a teenager now, right? It's time to realize you're an orphan and stop imagining yourself friends and family. It's also time to rethink relationships, because the last girl you dated turned out to be an evil alien in disguise. One would think that'd give you pause for another girl, but nope, of course not.

To say nothing of the plot developments it took him twenty-thirty pages to realize that took me about two. Or the whole book's writing style being an exercise in "how fast can I finish this".

I'm off to read a real book now. This book was nice for a reminder of what a novel snack is like, and to take a breather from an intense book with a throwaway novel.

While not as good as the first one - the story is fast paced and fun. James Patterson fans and fans of scifi may enjoy this book.
