Cold Justice #6
Romantic Suspense
This book contains violent content and surrounds the subject of rape for anyone sensitive or triggered by this type of content trigger warning.
I have read this series in order but I don't believe it's. Amust read in order this far. There is mention of some previous characters but the mention is so quick and minor here I don't think you lose anything bu not knowing previous stories.
I really liked this one of the series. The suspense and the whodunit is very good. Kept me guessing and speculating the wholed way through. Wondering who was the bad guy, who was next.
The romance was done very well. Characters with a history but still pretty instant falling for each other but not unbelievably so.

The heroine fluctuated between being a bad-ass and an insecure idiot. I can totally relate

The subject matter of this book was difficult, and I appreciated that the author didn't go into too much graphic detail. Had I been walked through the crime step by step, I would not have been able to read the book.

The narration was excellent. I love listening to Eric G. Dove. He is one of the few narrators that I have heard who can successfully handle male and female roles. He also never leaves you wondering who is speaking. There are books I have bought just to hear him narrate. I have yet to be disappointed, even with the no so great books. He definitely made them better.

Erin and Darsh's characters really didn't stand out to me. I could understand Erin's defensiveness after the initial trial. For me at least, I think if more emphasis had been put on her past experience, she would have been a more relatable character.

The person responsible for the crime was not that easy to distinguish. I came up with 3. One who was way too obvious, one who was a good suspect, and the already accused and convicted person. I enjoyed this book because it presented a challenge.

Even with not being able to buy into Darsh's and Erin's relationship, this was still a good read.

This story keeps you guessing till the very end

Erin and Darsh drew me into their lives, their chemistry was palpable, their integrity above reproach, even if they can’t keep their minds and hands off of each other. The storyline is probably 50/50 romance and suspenseful crime procedural and both just break your heart, but he HEA made my heart happy.

Another great romantic suspense story by Toni Anderson. This one keeps you guessing to the very end and deals with some very sensitive topics. Erin and Darsh may not always agree but they work well together and they have great chemistry.
