The story of how I came to be reading an issue of Analog goes back to an approaching tropical storm and my fears of how I would amuse myself if the power went out. Since most of my reading happens on my iPad, I didn't want to worry about having to ration my remaining battery, unsure when I would be able to plug it in again to recharge. In the end, the storm blew past and didn't cause much trouble at all: no power outages where we were.
I enjoyed this. There were some fun stories and… the factual science content was… able to keep my interest, even if it often felt like it sailed over my head without me fully comprehending it
