So boring.
I didn't like the writing style too.

Full of rich yet sad history of an adopted orphan. The author really delves deep into the value of knowing who your family really is. I loved the unique concept of the book and how it switched from past to present. Definitely a new favorite book!

This book actually kept me coming back! The back-and-forth chapters between Rill and Avery managed to tell two compelling stories at once. I loved it! The inspiration for this book, and the story itself, are heartbreaking.

I thought the book was fantastic! It made me want to learn more about what the topic of the book was about. I would also like to read some of her other books.

This gives one heck of an emotional wallop to the heart. I was completely ignorant of the Tennessee Child Home Society and the issues of child trafficking that went on for so long unchecked. Knowing the truth to the story added a whole other layer to the experience of this novel, and I’m so glad it was written.
