DID NOT FINISH — I will not rate a book that I shelf as “did not finish.” I don’t believe it’s fair to put a rating on books I didn’t read from beginning to end.

While not the best written book it was a page turner. I figured out what was going on early on, but how everything fit together was an interesting read. Good mindless beach reading!

Received this as a Goodreads.com Giveaways.

Was a little bit too sappy romantic for me. It was annoying the way the main character, Bailey, constantly used her husband's name when talking to him and used her own name when talking to herself.
Bailey meets Logan when on vacation and marries him after a short time. He doesn't really tell her much about his past and this causes trouble when they arrive home to his farm. His previous wife went missing along with several other women and he is suspected. Lots of other characters involved, his sister, his friend, the trainer, an old man, the local cop. Bailey isn't trying to figure out where they went she just wants a happy life.
The old man is killed and it eventually comes out who killed him and Logan's mother and others.

Had to return this one to the library before I got too far into it. I may pick it back up again some day, but I'm not entirely sure.

So this is basically a Lifetime movie. And like most Lifetime movies, I felt oddly compelled to finish it, no matter how corny things are along the way. The writing left a lot to be desired, the characters weren't really ones I connected with or rooted for. The resolution of the mystery seemed so blatantly obvious that I knew it couldn't be right and I wanted to find out the twist. Though a lot of the book was drawn out and repetitive, it did do a good job of keeping me guessing. I suspected nearly everybody at one point or another and there was a couple of twists that surprised me.

I generally enjoyed the book, though I won't be running out to read anything else by this author in the near future. I think fans of Lifetime mysteries would enjoy it.

This book read like a cross between an old gothic and a Lifetime movie which is great because I love both of those things. So Bailey marries a man she meets on vacation and goes back to his farm/ranch where there are some strange, some unfriendly people, some negative people in the community, some missing women, add in a ton of secrets and you have one great weekend read.

It was fine. I was pretty sure who the baddie was, and Bailey occasionally seemed dumb as a box of rocks. But I finished it and I was entertained, so.
