This was charming, but since the story has become so famous it did not deliver anything I wasn't already familiar with. Still, I can imagine it was very innovative at the time of publication.

A famous, curious, bizarre story. Just an interesting concept, there is nothing more to praise besides it and the humor. I laughed several times. Listened to it on audiobook, lasted about 30 minutes. It was interesting, but obviously not something you are meant to connect to or feel for at all. It was short, surreal and slightly disconcerting. No plot, just a telling of Benjamin’s life. The best part to me was the beginning. Ha! Got you thinking on the meaning of age and the experiences and prejudice corresponding with it, which is what it meant to inspire, I suppose.

This may be the most bizarre story I have ever read.

— who hasn’t heard about benjamin button’s story?
it’s one of the most interesting concepts in the history of literature, so it’s quite a shame that it didn’t measure up to fitzgerald’s other works.
the writing seems off and i think (mostly because you never fully connect to the characters) that it would’ve worked so much better as a full length novel.
