action packed and great visuals :) a little confused on why Nick Drake has the mantle and how that was conducive to the story but?? I liked Inque’s character arc.

Replacing McGinnis with Drake in the Beyond? That's a level of fail no amount of story telling can overcome.

I'm a big fan of Batman Beyond, so of course I wanted to read this when it came out. But I like Terry McGinnis BB, and this is not him.
Tim Drake/Red Robin is now Batman Beyond. Terry died and gave the suit to him, after being transported to the past to try and stop the future. Now Drake has been transported to a different future to clean up a different mess than he was expecting.
I don't know if this continues from another story line, but if it doesn't or you haven't read it, there is no lead in or explanation of what happened. It just gets dumped on you, which is frustrating. Furthermore, the plot sounds a lot like the comic version of Marvel's Age of Ultron. I am so sick of time travelling super heroes!
Lastly, while the art is colorful and I like it most of the time, the artist(s) have a bad habit of giving everyone pink eye. And they also don't match dialogue and facial expressions whatsoever. A character dies in this volume and someone very close to them is screaming in agony and their face is just mildly upset. Half the time their mouths aren't even open while talking.
Ignoring the symmetry to AOU and the whole not-Terry thing, the plot itself wasn't actually that bad, though I'm not familiar with Brother Eye as a villain at all. But I like my Terry McGinnis.
