Audiobook (All of my entries on The Story Graph are audiobooks.)
#5 in series  (I started reading this series in Sept 2022 and I have been committed to this series since April 2023.)
Will I read other installments?     Probably Not             Maybe              Definitely
I am committed to this series, so I plan to read them all.
Comparison to others in series:     Not as good           About the same           Better
Sara Paretsky writes about the social ills of working class people. I like that, but her character, V.I., can be shrill and annoying. She is flawed and doesn't always learn from her mistakes.
The narrator was Susan Ericksen. V.I. was annoying at times which was captured by the narrator, or vice versa.
