I read this for my English class during my Form 5 back in 2020. The best novel I ever read from all novels I read for my secondary school year (Form 1 - Form 5). I cried reading this and it's the first time I cried reading a book for a class. Omg, still the best book ever.

This is such a heartwarming and beautiful book. Really glad that it's in the Malaysian syllabus for English Lit. I feel that it's important to expose Malaysians to well-written Asian literature instead of typical Western literature. Especially one that discusses important issues such as women's rights and social injustices.
