Brilliantly absurd. And hidden between its pages is one of the better characterizations of Ayn Rand and her work (full disclosure: I've read Atlas Shrugged, The Fountainhead and Objectivism a couple of years back).

Really clever novel that probably reads even better now than it did when it was published in the 90s. Spoofs 'Atlas Shrugged,' skewers Objectivism but wears erudition lightly. Also echoes of 'Illuminatus!," though according to Ruff's website the similarities are coincidental.

All the absurdness of Snowcrash without its cleverness. However, bonus points probably must be awarded for discussion of objectivism, which I haven't previously seen in any SF novel.

I thought I would love this book, then I started and I thought I would hate this book. It started feeling very Gravity's Rainbow-esque and I hated that book. But given time, the story felt easier, things started to click and make sense, and the weird racism that made me cautious started to be explained. the ending I didn't too much enjoy, as quickly as it went, and gripping as it was, any author who ends with any type of "well that's for the reader to decide" ending, deserves a paper cut for every page we were forced to read After spending some time pushing through, trusting that I loved some of the author's other works, praying that it would pay off, it did, I'm glad I finished it and can say I enjoyed most of it.
