A very easy read. I lived the original story and thought it was fun to see it in graphic novel form. But I do feel like it was adapted for a younger audience. It simplified the story and I could see reading this to a toddler. But it was a fun quick read.
5 stars for nostalgia because I used to love this series when I was a kid

The story is fine. I'm interested to know if down the line the kids express more why they didn't want to go live with their grandfather.
The narrator for this version was not great. When reading in her normal voice it was fine. When doing the kids voices it was not authentic and yanked me right out of the story.

I never was in to mysteries. As a kid I enjoyed these books, but not nearly as much as others.
I used to read this series as a kid and it’s so cool to see it’s been turned into a graphic novel.
Read this for a Battle of the Books competition at my Elementary School. It was interesting. A bit slow at times. Solid 4/5⭐️
Sweet, wholesome story of 4 orphaned children who take care of each other after running away from a “cross” grandfather they’ve never met. Finding a boxcar, they begin their adventures living alone, until a series of event lead them back to confronting their fears.
We are a homeschooling family, and I read a book to my kid every month. We read this book for the Month of July as that what was voted on for Homeschool Book Club! My kids loved this book, and can’t wait to go to book club and discuss this book. We will continue reading all the box car children books.
