Just because you put together beautiful words, it doesn’t make it a great story

Quite creepy. Lots of tentacles. I think "The Colour Out of Space" was my favourite.
I didn't finish the one about the mountains. I got a third of the way into that one and I was like "okay ancient vegetable-creatures, scary mountains, I cannot read 100 pages of this expedition though"
I really enjoyed the fact that the stories intertwined. While each of these is creepy in its own right, the fact that a character from one story is referencing a town/incident/monster from another makes it extra unnerving. A monster is one thing but suggesting a world where all of these scary, powerful beings exist at once is more unsettling to me.
