Eerie and full of story for a short work.  I love Ryan Call's writing and Christy's art. I've owned this for ages, I just lost track of it in my TBR, I guess.

Chilling and brilliant. Ryan Call can say more in 500 words than many authors can in 500 pages.

In an unclear post-apocalyptic future (that could have occured last month or a generation ago), two children struggle to care for a feeble, bed-ridden mother and a father on the verge of mental collapse as he struggles to feed his family.

Call's words are accompanied by haunting line drawings that perfectly match the tone of the story. Click on the url listed on the description page of this chapbook. Once you've read this story, go buy his book of stories Weather Station. Next, rejoice.

Ryan, when will you write us more fantabulous stories?
