This was just an OK read for me.  The artwork is good but I did not care for the story.  The story did not flow and I did not find the characters likeable.  I was not interested in solving the crime.  The story and artwork were very dark.  I normally enjoy Joe Hill books but this was a miss.

A nice attempt at a crime/mystery story. Only three stars because I'm just not that into the genre. I do however love Joe Hill and everything he writes.

Ex-cop turned stand up comic, Syd Homes, is having one hell of a night but not as bad as his rival who ended up beaten and drowned in a puddle behind the comedy club. The next day isn't any better when the cops come after Syd for the murder.

A well thought-out whodunit in a crime / noir setting with average writing.

Man. These are usually fun, but the convoluted nature of the revelations of 'whodunit' was just too much. I honestly can't believe Joe Hill wrote this, because the tangled web of who might have killed the victim, was so laughably unnecessary it was downright stupid.

I was torn between giving this a 3 or 4 star rating. Ultimately, I found it to be fairly interesting, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. That being said, I can really see a lot of other fans enjoying this read, so don't let my preference turn you away - there's a lot of potential here.
