Au début j'ai pas accroché avec ce roman parce qu'on doit se familiariser avec un style rétro dans sa plénitude de descriptions sans presque aucun dialogue. Cependant la dernière partie est assez captivante, j'aimerais bien lire la suite

I loved how these characters were so real; Slimani wrote them with such sensitivity, lifting their insecurities, vanities, loves right off the page and into the room with you. It's a book that grips and doesn't let go. I wouldn't say it's plotless, but it beginnings and ends in the middle of things and sometimes the threads that held promise tailed off when I would have preferred just that *little bit more*. But overall, I devoured this greedily.

Edited to add: I didn't realise that this book was part 1! This does explain the lack of 'resolve' at the end and for some of the characters. Will definitely look up the sequel.
