We have started going on hikes since we haven’t been able to do anything else during quarantine. I thought this book might be helpful to teach/have fun with the kiddo during our hikes. But most of the activities in the book are for groups of people. I think this book is most suitable to teachers who take their students on field trips or for people who are leading a large group. I didn’t find many useful activities but I liked the ones that were suitable for us. This book is also suitable for teachers whose students are not already fascinated by plants and animals. My kid loves animals and plants so all the first set of activities are useless to us as there is no need to motivate him.
I am glad this book exists as it promotes teaching kids about nature and I will try to implement some of these activities in our next hike.

This book has lots of ready to go activities for teachers and outdoor educators, many of which don’t require a lot of materials or equipment. I really like the structure of the Flow Learning - I’m definitely going to try structuring some lessons like this and see how they go!
