A story about a family that loses most of their money and jobs during the recent recession. I hated so much about the situation - the jerky boss that put the family in this situation by basically breaking the law and not caring about his employees. He got off rich, while everyone else lost everything. The fact that the couple couldn't find jobs that made enough to live at even half the level they were living at before was upsetting because I know the same thing would likely happen to us if we were to lose our jobs nowadays. The whole situation with health insurance was realistic. So many people have to manipulate the system to get care.

The ending didn't make sense to me, though. Why, after having lived so close to the bone before, wouldn't the family save more once their financial situation improved again? You'd think the wife would have learned her lesson and would also want to teach her children to live frugally to help protect themselves from financial collapse.
