I expected more historical context or analysis to go with each excerpt. The single introduction is fascinating and so well-written, so the lack of other original content feels like an immense missed opportunity.

So many of the excerpted stories are very racist and ableist, among many other issues. I do not recommend this book as a way of engaging with lesbian pulp for the first time as very little context is offered and the author has many harmful biases.

This was extraordinarily interesting for me. It was like a window into a world I never imagined. So glad I wasn't born earlier!
